20 Pomeranian Mixes (With Pictures)

Pomeranians are consistently one of the most popular dog breeds, ranking in the top 20 most favored breeds every year. Their tiny size and huge personalities make them ideal for individuals and families. Their popularity has also led to an increase in breeding them with other dogs as mixed breeds.

It is also common to find a mixed breed Pomeranian in a shelter as their energetic temperament is not for everyone. You should always make sure you know what you are getting when you purchase or adopt a dog. That being said, Pomeranian mixes can make excellent pets for the right family. Let’s get to know some of the most common Pomeranian mixes!

Top 20 Pomeranian Mixes

1. Bichonaranian (Pomeranian x Bichon Frise)

The Bichonaranian is a cross between a Pomeranian and a Bichon Frise. They tend to be very sweet, playful, and affectionate, just like both of their parents. They are also quite small, standing between 7 to 12 inches tall and weighing 5 to 12 pounds. Because of this, they are perhaps better suited for families with older children to prevent injuries to their small bodies. These dogs are also very smart and trainable.

2. Brusselranian (Pomeranian x Brussels Griffon)

When you breed a Brussels Griffon and a Pomeranian, you get a Brusselranian! They tend to have the distinctive face of a Brussels Griffon, but also often have the fluffy Pomeranian coat. Both of this hybrid’s parents are the types of dogs who don’t like to be left alone, so it is no surprise that the Brusselranian is also very attached to their owner. They make good dogs for people who are home often or who can take them along for daily tasks.

3. Cavapom (Pomeranian x Cavalier King Charles Spaniel)

A cross between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Pomeranian gives you the adorable Cavapom. These small dogs are good for families with older children. They often have the feathered ears of the Cavalier Spaniel and soft, silky coats. Their coat and small size make them susceptible to overheating on summer days, so it is important to make sure you monitor them when they play outside. They can make good apartment-dwelling dogs as long as they are not left home alone for a long time.

4. Chinaranian (Pomeranian x Chinese Crested)

Chinaranians are a cross between a Pomeranian and a Chinese Crested. Although the Chinese Crested comes in hairless varieties, the Chinaranian always has hair. It is often short to medium length and can be a wide range of colors. These dogs are tiny, standing only 7 to 8 inches high and weighing 8 to 10 pounds. That tiny package contains a lot of energy, though! They are playful, affectionate, and crave attention. They need more exercise than the typical small dog and like to go on long walks, run in a safely fenced yard, and play fetch.

5. Cockeranian (Pomeranian x Cocker Spaniel)

The Cockeranian is a mix of a Cocker Spaniel and a Pomeranian. The mixing of two different-sized breeds can result in a Cockeranian that is anywhere from 11 to 16 inches tall and 11 to 27 pounds. It really depends on which parent the puppy takes after more. As both of the parent breeds tend to be high-energy, frequent barkers, the Cockeranian displays both of those traits. They also require frequent grooming to maintain their long coats and are heavy shedders.

6. Dameranian (Pomeranian x Dachshund)

Dachshunds and Pomeranians are both small, energetic, friendly dogs. The offspring of these two, a Dameranian, is the same. Like both of its parents, the Dameranian bonds closely with their family, often choosing one member to whom they cling to more than any other. Their appearance varies, depending on which type of Dachshund the parent was. Long-haired Dachshund parents will likely produce offspring with long hair. If the Dachshund parent had short hair, the Dameranian puppy will have a more medium-length coat.

7. French Pomerdog (Pomeranian x French Bulldog)

This mix of a French Bulldog and Pomeranian is a loyal companion dog. If you are looking for a friend to follow you around everywhere, then this may be the dog for you! They are great for families who have plenty of time to spend with them as they do not tolerate being left alone. They are eager to please and friendly. In terms of looks, it depends on which parent is more dominant. They may have the big ears of the French Bulldog or the fluffy coat of the Pomeranian.

8. Jackaranian (Pomeranian x Jack Russell Terrier)

The Jackaranian is a cross between a Pomeranian and a Jack Russell Terrier. They are feisty and friendly. This is a dog who loves to run around and play, so they make great family pets. Even though they are full of energy and very brave, the Jackaranian is small, with most weighing between 6 to 14 pounds. Smaller children should be taught to be careful so as not to injure their tiny companions while playing.

9. La Pom (Pomeranian x Lhasa Apso)

The cross between a Pomeranian and a Lhasa Apso is one of the quieter and calmer Pomeranian mixes. This makes them a good choice for apartment dwellers as they are not big barkers. They are generally smart and friendly dogs who love their owners. Bred as companion animals, they are happiest when they can spend time with you. Their fully grown weight is between 7 to 15 pounds and their height is 7 to 12 inches.

10. Maltipom (Pomeranian x Maltese)

Maltipoms are a cross between the long-haired Maltese and the fluffy Pomeranian. The result is an adorable dog who is intelligent and does well with training. They are tiny, weighing between 3 to 9 pounds when fully grown. Because of this, they are best suited for families with older children or adult-only households. Their long coat requires brushing. However, they do not shed so they may be a good choice for allergy sufferers.

11. PapiPom (Pomeranian x Papillon)

This mix is a cross between a Papillon and a Pomeranian. They have fluffy coats and can take on markings from either parent. A fully grown Papipom can weigh anywhere from 3 to 10 pounds, so they are best suited for families with older or no children. This mix is less needy than some of the other Pomeranian mixes. They can happily entertain themselves if they have a safely fenced yard to run around in. But, of course, they love to play with you as well and enjoy long walks and games of fetch.

12. Peek-A-Pom (Pomeranian x Pekingese)

With perhaps the cutest name on our list, the Peek-A-Pom is a mix of Pomeranian and Pekingese parents. They are very small, with adults standing 7 to 10 inches tall and weighing only 3 to 12 pounds. They are very loyal and affectionate and tend to bond with their owners quickly. They are also notoriously difficult to train due to their stubborn streak. However, with plenty of work and attention, you will have a great companion.

13. Pom-A-Nauze (Pomeranian x Miniature Schnauzer)

The Pom-A-Nauze is a cross between a Pomeranian and a Miniature Schnauzer. The result is a medium-length-haired dog that can have a face resembling either of their parents. They are loyal and alert, as both breeds were originally used to hunt rats. They are also very affectionate dogs who bond with their families and distrust strangers. Apartment living may not be the best choice for these dogs as they have a tendency to bark frequently.

14. Pom-A-Pug (Pomeranian x Pug)

These mixes of Pomeranians and Pugs tend to look like their Pug parent in the face and markings, but with the longer hair of the Pomeranian parent. They can range in size from 8 to 13 inches tall and weigh between 3 and 18 pounds. The Pug’s tendency to gain extra weight can be passed on to the Pom-A-Pug, so it is important to make sure they get plenty of exercise and don’t overeat. These dogs are energetic and friendly, making them great pets for active single people or families with older children.

15. Pomchi (Pomeranian x Chihuahua)

The Pomchi is a mix of the Pomeranian and Chihuahua. As you can imagine, the result is a tiny dog who thinks it’s a big dog. They tend to look like long-haired Chihuahuas. They are very energetic and stubborn. This can make them very difficult to train so beginning their training at a young age is a must. With proper training and care, you will get a loving, affectionate, and loyal companion who adores your whole family.

16. Pomeagle (Pomeranian x Beagle)

A cross between a Beagle and a Pomeranian, the Pomeagle tends to look like a Beagle with longer hair. The variance in size between the parent breeds makes it difficult to guess how big your Pomeagle will be. They tend to range in height from 6 to 11 inches and in weight from 5 to 25 pounds. They are very loving and loyal and prefer to be around their families as much as possible. As long as younger children are taught to be gentle with these small dogs, the Pomeagle makes an excellent family dog.

17. Pomapoo (Pomeranian x Toy Poodle)

The Pomapoo is a cross between the Pomeranian and the Toy Poodle. They can either have straight hair like the Pomeranian or the curly hair of the Poodle. Either way, they will require regular grooming. Their personality takes on the best of both breeds, giving you an intelligent and friendly dog who likes learning and spending time with you. These are great dogs for apartment living as they don’t tend to be big barkers.

18. Pomsky (Pomeranian x Siberian Husky)

This combination of a Pomeranian and Siberian Husky is almost always done via artificial insemination due to the unsafe nature of breeding two dogs of such different sizes. The result is a dog that can be anywhere from 10 to 15 inches high and weigh anywhere from 7 to 38 pounds. You really don’t know what you are going to get if you buy a Pomsky puppy. They do not tend to be as active as their Husky parents but are playful and smart. They are very affectionate with their family, but may be distrustful of strangers. Pomskies also tend to bark at strangers and noises, so they are not well-suited for apartment living.

19. Shiranian (Pomeranian x Shih Tzu)

They have long coats and require frequent brushing and grooming. They are also prone to gaining weight if not given enough exercise. They thrive when given plenty of attention and require an owner who will provide them with the love and affection they crave.

The Yoranian is a mix of a Yorkshire Terrier and a Pomeranian. The result is the smallest dog on our list at only 6 to 10 inches tall, with an adult weight of 3 to 7 pounds. Their small stature is more than made up for in personality. They are silly, active, and friendly dogs who love to play.
