Mullins Feist is bred and developed in America; the name Mullins is taken from the name of its originator. The breed has a great ability of hunting and treeing the squirrels. A Mullins Feist being natural hunting dog loves to hunt the small games. They keep silence while trailing; however, bark at trees. With an amazing scenting ability and can locate the games by winding. These dogs carefully look at the timber, chasing the squirrels that come-out of timbers. They are very active on all types of the games. Overall, the Mullins Feist is an intelligent, loving companion, guardian and hunting dog. Being an intelligent dog, the Mullins Feist is easy to train. It is an active and energetic dog so it would like to have some amount of reasonable daily exercises. The short coat of the breed is easy to groom and maintain.

Mullins Feist History

The selectively bred and developed, the history of the Mullins Feists dates back to 1970s, when Mr. Jody Mullins purchased a male and two female puppies from the Tennesse. These dogs were Mountain Feist was living with that family since many generations. The Mr. Mullins wants to develop a dog able to keep his yard clear of varmints as well as a wonderful tree dog. So he brought his dream true reality in the form of Mullins Feist. Mullins Feist is an old timey line of Mountain Feist, only DRA recognized it.

The Mullins Feists are with a medium build and strong body and legs are in proportion to its body. The tail of the breed can be long to natural bobbed or may be docked. The coat color includes yellow, black or yellow with white spots. Some of the Feists have dark hairs running along the main color or dark muzzle.
