The Kemmer Feist dogs originated in United States of America by Robert Kemmer, a stock breeder. These dogs developed by crossing the Mountain Curs, Fox Terriers and in some extent the Old Timely Mountain Feists. Recently, there are a few numbers of these dogs most are crossed with other lines.

The soft, swift coat of the breed is shorthaired that is coloring tricolored including black, tan and white while others are brown or white and brown.
