Birth to 3 weeks

Puppies arev never competent to learn things up to their initial 20 days of life. In addition to the physical delicacy mental capacity is also very low to nil. The puppies will act in response when it feels to have some food, warmth, sleep and its mother. The most significant is that the dam must be kept very carefully during the first 3 weeks. Remember, during first 3 weeks the dam will have needed to be kept at warm but separate place in spite of family living place. During this period of three weeks, the puppy should be handled most delicate way by humans once or twice a day. During first 20 days of their life the puppies must be stayed with an ease in their whelping box.

3 to 4 weeks

On the 21st day it will be alike a new litters. Not a matter, what the breed is, during this period of time, the inactive senses of the pups will wake up. 21 to 28 days, the puppies will have need of their dam mother more than any other time due to growth of their mind and nervous systems, the activation of senses and growth of brain and nervous system lead it to be aware of their environment and surroundings. They astonishingly watch their mom when she jumps out the box. At this age, they will follow the dam and will jump and climbing out of the whelping box, now it is right time to expand their homes. It is a time when we should add a little potty pot or mark an area next to the whelping box. At this more critical time of life if a puppy will lost its mom this will worst affect its emotional comfort. When a puppy feels it is a living being and has a life in it then the emotional growth takes place, it is time his/her emotional blooming. During this time of age some traits like fear and shyness may develop in the pups. The negative attributions that grew up in this age will become the permanent traits of their temperament for their all life.

4 to 7 weeks

With the day 29 to 49 the pups will undertake to go away from their whelping box sleeping place. Though, they will never go farther but can start to walk around and exploring. At this time of their age, it is necessary to add some extended area for their play and eating. At this time of life they can be taken to the family living area and kitchen too, and introduced to the household. At this stage it must not be in the back in garage, barn or bedroom. It is right time of their age when it can learn to respond the sounds, voices and get introduction with different human beings. Establishing of “a pecking order” will take place within their group, in the group some pups will to lead and resting will follow. Leading ones can eat first and the follower ones will wait. Leading pups can possessive and can control over all the toys. This is concerned real stage to see to learn the temperament or personality of each pup and must be used for introduction and placement of them into proper houses. It is proved by scientific methods, if there is a bully or dominant puppy in litter, it may induced coward and shyness into the traits of other meek puppies, and it will be so tough to turn around, however it is also significant that the pups must be left in a social crowd for a well enough long time for following learning:

1. So that it to be audacious and to get some social competitive ability. Meanwhile, a pup must not be allowed to be so assertive.

2. Shy puppy can learn how to handle themselves in social groups.

3. A dominant puppy can need to learn it may not be acceptable for owner to be a bully.

Remember, there are different stages for different breeds to be separated. The remaining puppies will lost their shyness if bully is adopted out first.

Up to seven weeks, though a puppy is considered emotionally developed and is ready to learn but it never has a young brain still. When a puppy is at the age of 7 weeks, the owner can start the crate training. The crate training must be one or two hours with two puppies in a crate. This training will support with separation anxiety. In 8th week a pup can be able to go into the crate alone for nap and it will about to ready for the new house.

7 to 12 weeks

From day 50 on the pup is working to a capability wherever it's prepared for all times far away from his littermates. What a puppy learns currently are maintained and become a part of who the dog becomes and his temperament. Most dams stop caring for his or her pups by seven weeks, as they need teeth and he or she pushes them away. If a pup is left with the dam throughout this era its emotional development is altered, because it remains dependent on her. Constant will happen if litter- mates are placed along. They suppose one another rather than the new owner and those typically don't realize adequate security in their mom or litter-mate. They have their new owner to require over the role and it's vital that the humans perceive natural dog behavior so as to meet the puppies’ instincts and wishes. Initial shots ought to be done at 7.5 to eight weeks older.

When a puppy stays together with his litter once eight to nine weeks aged while not adequate human contact it does not regulate also to a personality's social life. The optimum time to require a replacement puppy is from eight to nine weeks ancient. it's always best to own a pup do his learning from his new owner and in his new home. Puppies are typically adopted out at 8, 9, 10 or eleven weeks. Older puppies will just do fine if the stock breeder has spent lots of your time socializing them far-away from their littermates. Ideally nine weeks appears to be the proper age for many breeds to travel to new homes. What the dog learns from eight to twelve weeks are with him forever. At this point the puppy should be introduced to people and opt for walks on the pavement (street) avoiding dirt or grass till it's had its 2nd shots. If the primary shots are done at eight weeks and second are done at twelve weeks it's a decent plan to enter in puppy preschool that starts right at twelve weeks.
